Sandy Lyle Watch 2010
10 February 2010
Yes, it's back. Sandy Lyle Watch 2010. Having made a complete mess of Sandy Lyle Watch 2009 - I started after his excellent showing at the Masters, continued through a general mince period when he was really rubbish on the Old Man's Tour of America, and then finished prior to his wonderful Handbags at Dawn stramash with that big girl's blouse Montgomery - this year we're going to be in at the start, and stick with him through every missed cut, double bogey and T56 place finish in the three round geriatric tournaments on plastic golf courses in California.
Bizarrely, to kick off his 2010 season, Sandy is actually playing in a proper tournament with proper golfers in it. It's the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, and it looks like Sandy's there as one of the pros. Outside of the Masters and the British Open, it's the first US tour event he's started in a few years.
So fingers crossed for a better season than last, a season which fell away disastrously after the Masters. The AT&T kicks off on Thursday 11th February, and is like the St. Andrews/Kingsbarn/Carnoustie event in October, so three guaranteed rounds. Regular updates, here on Sandy Lyle Watch 2010.
