The Oscar nominations were announced this week. Of all the things that we hate here at This Blasted Life – and despite appearances, Malky Eight Feet, Giant Nancy and me don’t actually hate that much – the stupid Oscars are in the top three. Overblown, narcissistic, backslapping pants, guaranteed to have Kate Winslet bursting into tears before the opening credits have finished.

Yes, complaining about the Oscars this week, mainly because they're a load of… well, overblown, narcissistic, backslapping pants.
